What Splits is

Splits is a ledger for tracking IOUs between friends. It is not a money-transmitter. We do not hold funds, process payments, or settle balances on your behalf. Payments themselves happen outside Splits (Venmo, Cash App, cash). You and your friends are responsible for actually moving the money.

Your account

You must be 18 or older to use Splits, and you must keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity on your account, including bills that get auto-split based on Splits you create.

Acceptable use

• Don't use Splits for unlawful activity.
• Don't scrape, automate, or abuse the service.
• Don't link bank accounts that don't belong to you, or that you're not authorized to access.

Plaid

We use Plaid to read your bank transactions. Your use of Plaid through Splits is also subject to Plaid's terms and privacy policy.

No warranties; limitation of liability

Splits is provided "as is". We don't warrant that Split matches, recurring detection, or balance calculations are free from error — review your splits before settling. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version and the revision date here.
