No. Splits is a ledger. Payments settle via Venmo or Cash App deep links — we never touch the funds.

We only read transactions on accounts you link. The Plaid access token is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. You can revoke at any time.

Splits tracks IOUs between friends. It is not designed for business income, and we don't generate tax documents.

Right now both parties need an account so the ledger stays symmetric. Invite-link sharing is on the roadmap.
