About

One engineer. One Wi-Fi bill
too many to chase.

Independent · No investors

Splits is built and run by one person — an engineer who got tired of chasing roommates for the Wi-Fi bill and decided to fix it properly.

Why this exists

A small problem, everywhere.

Someone always pays for the recurring shared thing, and someone always has to remember to send the other person their share. Existing apps either make you log every charge by hand, or they pivot into being a payment processor — meaning KYC, friction, and a cut of every transfer.

Splits picks the boring middle: detect the bill automatically with Plaid, do the math, and let Venmo or Cash App do what they're already good at. We're a ledger, not a wallet.

How it's run

The shape of a one-person operation.

Independent

No investors, no growth deck, no quarterly plan. The roadmap moves with the person, not a board meeting.

Considered, not rushed

Features ship in a deliberate order rather than all at once. Better to do one thing well than four things halfway.

One accountable owner

Every decision — what to build, what to refuse, how to treat your data — is made by someone who has to live with the consequences.
